WWW
Stands for World Wide Web, the system of hypertext documents that are linked together and are accessible through the Internet. By softwere known as a browser, users can view Web pages (containing text, images, videos and other multimedia content) and browse through them using hyperlinks.
The WWW was developed in the early 90's by Englishman Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau Belgian, while working at CERN in Geneva (Switzerland). Anyway, its history goes back to the '40s. Note that Berners-Lee and Cailliau have been key to the creation of Web standards such as markup languages with which the pages are created.
HOTMAIL
NO MEANS hot mail (EYE)HoTMaiL: HTML--- HistoryHotmail, founded by Jack Smith and Sabeer Bhatia in 1995, was commercially launched on July 4, 1996, Independence Day in the United States, symbolically representing freedom from ISPs. Jack Smith first had the idea of accessing email via the web from any computer anywhere in the world, originally with the impetus to go through corporate firewalls blocking regular mail services. When Sabeer Bhatia THOUGHT THE BUSINESS PLAN FOR THE MAIL, tried all kinds of names end with "-MAIL" AND FINALLY BY HOTMAIL BECAUSE DECEDIÓ included the letters "HTML" - the language used to write web pages. It was initially referred to as Hotmail with a selective use of capitals.
YAHOO
In the novel by Jonathan Swift, Gulliver.Yahoo, is a savage creature, filthy and nasty habits that separece too human for a taste of Lemuel Gulliver, who preferred the quiet and rational society of Houyhnhm. Yahoo! is an acronym for "Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle", but its creators, David Filo and Jerry Yang, Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University, say they chose that name because they liked the yahoo name definition, which English means person rude, rude manners ("rude, unsophisticated, uncouth").
